Still Heat No.17 - this time coming from London's 'Cut Out' with their album 'Down The Line'

Followers and fellow admirers of the early 2000's UK Wonk / Broken Beat scene will need no introduction to Cut Out's (aka Paul Gannaway) work. Releasing a slew of sludgy broken electro and skronked up-beats & bass, on labels such as the mighty Ugly Funk , Nest and Werk - and performing notoriously chaotic sets at Ugly Funk nights at the infamous Elektrowerkz venue in London.

In recent years Paul has stepped back from abstract-electro of those recent releases and put out deeper ,more introspective tonal work under his 'Southfacing' moniker, and has been involved in the scene-leading cassette label 'Frequency Domain'.

'Down The Line' is the perfect mix of the recent introspective and cinematic output of Southfacing, colliding with the playful electronica-esque-snap and weighty beats of those manic early Cut Out releases. (Check out 'Past It' , 'Slumber' and the incredible Suzi C vocal-led 'Stillness of Things')

As long time fans, we are exceptionally honoured in Paul entrusting us with releasing 'Down The Line'.
